GEORGE (thinking): The memory isn't really clear...

GEORGE (narrating): That was the first time I saw Steve in over 4 years.

Yes, I had joined The Society that Steve discovered – and yes, his paranoia was justified.

The Society has done... ambiguous things – things that Steve would consider sinister. But its purpose is vital.

There are... things in this world – things that only The Society has a slim chance of stopping. Well, not stopping. Forestalling.

My grandmothers told me stories as a child – about things like the Loup Garou. Catholic werewolves from the L'Acadiane swamps that punish sinners. My Bonjou and Grand-mere didn't like each other much, but they both encouraged me to pay attention to my dreams...
