TRANSCRIPT
STEVE (narrating): 9:40 AM, I take a deep breath and another dose, and then I turn on the machine. It whirs to life and I enter my password. As I start typing, I can’t help but think about my friend George.
George and I went to high school together back in Louisiana. He never had the chance to go to college. I don’t think his family could afford it. He was pretty brilliant, though, one hell of a journalist. He started writing for The Doubter straight out of school.
He disappeared almost five years ago.
He really believed in the cause, too. He believed that we could make the world a better place. He used to tell me, “Steve, we have a duty. I want to help people.” I wish that he had the chance to write something before whatever got him, got him. Leave us a hint.
He was so young when he disappeared.
I guess I’m still pretty young too.
