The Kalem Society

TRANSCRIPT
GEORGE (narrating): When Steve interrupted me, I had been preparing for a journey. The dream with my tattoo's image had been getting stronger for weeks. For years I knew I would eventually understand what it meant. Now I was compelled to go looking for it.
My premonitions aren't compulsions, but this one had been different. Something was calling to me – like a fishing hook in my mind, the line drawing me toward a surface of my reality I didn't fully comprehend.
I drove for hours in the pouring rain to a town that was almost completely abandoned from the recent flooding from Katrina. Something I had been dreaming about had washed up on the land – just as it promised me it would in my dreams.
