Hey everybody. I'm very excited about this new story arc. I really hope you all enjoy it.

First of all, I should point out that this title page is a bonus strip, this week's regular strip should be up on Friday.

Now some of you maybe wondering why this says "First Interlude" instead of "Chapter 2." Basically, in Chapter 1, I set out to introduce the main characters and in Chapter 2, I wanted to get into some of the history of the Society and its goals, what exactly it is that they are up to, but it occured to me that the reader doesn't have much of a reason to care at this point. Now that the main characters have been introduced, it seemed appropriate to focus on building up a little suspense and mystery before revealing what's really going on.

I'll be doing interludes fairly frequently, between most of the chapters. Interludes will be much shorter stories, in some cases just brief vinnettes, designed to give me a chance to develop some of the minor characters more deeply, examine the major characters more closely, or illuminate some facet of the setting. Also, they will give me a chance to experiment with different styles.

The style of the composition in this story arc is going to be very different from the previous one. If you don't like it, don't worry. It will be brief, and soon I'll be going back to the more traditional comic book style.

On the plus side, since this style makes it a bit faster and easier to produce pages, I'll be temporarily updating more times a week. Just until this Interlude is finished, I'll be updating more often than just Friday. I'm not 100% certain how often, but possibly as much as 3 days a week. Let's say Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (None of this will count as that fourth and final missed update I intend to make up for. That will have to wait until some point in Chapter 2.)
