The Kalem Society

That's it for Chapter 2. This Thursday, I'll post the title page for Chapter 3, which will begin on Monday.

Some of those Kalem officials and F.B.P.I. agents shown above will be showing up again soon, some of them will be showing up eventually, and a few of them are in-jokes.

The witch with a chainsaw is a character from one of my RPGs (a Kalem Society spinoff adventure), who's appearance was inspired by a wallpaper I saw sometime in 2008. This pinterest and this imgur link are the only places I've been able to relocate it. If anyone can identify the original artist so I can properly credit them, please email me.

TRANSCRIPT

GEORGE (narrating): And so I joined the Federal Bureau of Paranormal Investigation, a rogue government agency that split off to become the American branch of the international cabal known as The Kalem Society.

No one tried to take my artifacts. In fact, they told me I shouldn't let anyone but the highest ranking members know where I got them. The official story is that I made them myself. The more I used them, the more powerful I became. I mentally tweaked the energy channels inside them – personalizing them as they adapted to me.

With the raw power at my disposal, the F.B.P.I. assigned me to the most dangerous field operations. I met and worked with their most powerful paranormal operatives.

I never had many emotional attachments to my old life. But I did abandon my best friend. I didn't do it to become a psychic spy. I already was one. I did it to become a superhero. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Poor Steve, now what am I going to do with you?
